Janine Elene Huff was born in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Henry Sr., and June Huff. She was the youngest of four children; one child, "Light" Henry Lincoln Huff Jr., preceded her in death.

Janine attended John Harvard Elementary School, T. K. Lawless Upper Grade Center, and both Paul Robeson and later Aquinas High School. She also attended Harold Washington and Olive Harvey Colleges, Florida A & M University and Chicago State University. Janine believed in enriching herself through education, and with the help of her dear friend, Kim, was preparing to take additional college courses on-line.

Janine was musically inclined and played the flute beautifully. She was a member of Faith United Methodist Church's Choir and sang Soprano, attending faithfully each Sunday that she could.

Janine had a variety of work experiences including health care, marketing and banking. Her last position was with Harris Bank where she was recognized as a stellar employee.

Janine collected dolls, a passion she inherited from her Aunt Johnilou. During her teen years, she was athletically inclined and ran track at Paul Robeson High School.

Janine was a devoted parent to her only child, Herman Terrell Huff. She raised him with patience, love and discipline. She enjoyed watching him grow up to be a very intelligent and wonderful young man. She was so proud to watch her son graduate from University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana Campus this spring. She would beam when speaking of his accomplishments, which included volunteering at a local clinic and working in school cafeterias, all while maintaining his grade point average and being on the Dean's List for at least one of his semesters of school. He will attend medical school this fall.

Janine was inseparable from the Love of Her Life and longtime companion, Craig Dorsey. She was 'bestest' friends, since high school with Kim McSpadden.

Janine departed this life on July 12, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory, son, Herman Terrell Huff; loving mother, June M. Huff; siblings, Glenda (Fiance "Cowboy" Charles Pulling) and Lorincz Huff; devoted companion, Craig Dorsey; "bestest" friend, Kim McSpadden; aunt, Alice Jones; nieces and nephews, Shanu Byrd, Andre Huff, Aziza Huff, June McCain-Ford, DeAndre, and Andrew; cousins, Bettie and Donald Lusk, Judith Hayes, Carmen Upshaw, Carl El-amin, Sheryl (Gerard) Bilal, Albert (Sandra) Bryant, and Atrox Antares, Andrew, Murry Jr., Arthur Jr., Keyara, Ramar, Maryum (Wasif), Amina, Sofia, Aliah (Michael), Akia, Samiyyah, Meridith, Alexandra, Taliah, China, Keyla, Kareem, Adam, Najiyah, Noah, Hana, Jasmine, Maryum Jr. and a host of other relatives and friends.
