Sandra was born on October 20, 1938 to Rhomey Parks and Oretha ("Rita") Hickman Parks, in Chicago, Illinois.

Sandra attended Coleman Elementary School and graduated from DuSable High School, Chicago, Illinois.

In 1954, Sandra married Julius Davis Brown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her brothers, Rhomey Jr. ("Duke") and Donald ("Duck") Parks, and her parents.

Sandra, affectionately referred to as "Mama," leaves, to cherish her love and memories, her five children, Pamela, Patrice (Norman), Hilton II (Yvette), Kevin (Michelle), and Anthony; her grandchildren, Emil, Jada, Jasmine, Erica, Hilton III, Clarke, Mikaela, Justin and Nicholas; her great-grandchildren Dasia, Mikayla and Jakyla; and her sisters, Verneda, Sherryl and Rona, along with a host of extended family and friends.
